This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) in northern California, and CCWD untreated water operations and treated water operations. The Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit, a NPDES permit, is presented, along with the Municipal Regional Permit (MRP) which is an effort byRWQCB to consolidate the six MS4 permits into one single regionalpermit to provide "consistency, accountability, andflexibility". Potable water discharges areallowed through conditional exemptions under thesepermits.In effect, the conditional exemptions regulate potablewater system discharge.
