This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of process fundamentals of demonstration-scale fixed-bedbiological nitrate andperchlorate treatment with post-treatment. The pilot testing process flow is presented, along with technical objectives that include the following: evaluate efficacy of using fixed-bed (FXB) bioreactors + post-treatmentto convert perchlorate-contaminated water into potablewater;demonstrate sustained removal capabilities;identify process limitations and potential failure scenarios; and,develop accurate full-scale facility lay-outs and cost estimates.
