Full Description

This study begins by providing a brief overview of the city of Carrabelle, Florida. Project objectives include the following: provide modular treatment units for ease offuture capacity expansion;provide the initial treatment system withsufficient capacity to treat the near termgrowth only, with initial installation;depend on modular nature of selectedtechnology to expand capacity whenrequired;treat water to resolve DBP complianceproblems and other regulatory requirementsof concern;defer treatment for aesthetic issues due tobudgetary constraints; maximize use of existing infrastructure;do not adversely impact the sanitary sewertransmission or treatment system withtreatment residuals;if technically and economically feasible, utilize the same treatment technology forboth systems; and, provide an operator-friendly system. Water quality and treatment goals are presented, along withalternatives analysis, pilot-study results, design considerations, andcurrent project status. Includes tables, figures.
