This powerpoint presentation begins by providing the following definition of Renewable Energy:"energy that is producedfrom the utilization of natural resourcessuch as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, andgeothermal heat, which are naturallyreplenished." The presentation presents water treatment plants (WTPs) as excellent candidates for going green, and the benefits of going green are presented including: Reduction in Plant Operating Costs;Improved Public Relations; and,Preparedness For The Future. Laws and regulations concerning energy are presented, along with financial incentives for going green and renewable energy evaluation tools. RETScreen International is presented and includes the following:free software available from NaturalResources Canada;developed with input from government,industry, and academia;can be used to evaluate energy production,life-cycle costs, emissions, and financialfeasibility for projects around the world; and,includes product, cost, and climatedatabases. An example of wind energy technology used at an Ohio WTP is provided. Includes figures.
