Full Description

This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The criticality of water mains in Hamilton is presented, along with a condition assessment rationalization tool and a condition rating consolidation tool. Steps to implementing an analytical hierarchy process (AHP) tool are given, along with an inspection and intervention planning tool. Presentation conclusions indicate that: a "blanket" management approach for alltypes of water main assets is noteffective;concept of "risk" good starting point forcrafting your management approach;opportunity to get a good bang for thebuck by focusing on potentiallyproblematic mains; opportunity to collect Level "A" distressindicators at relatively low cost; and, moving beyond level "A" is costly and there isa need for a rationalization framework. Includes tables, figures.
