This slide presentation outlines new developments in water efficiency such as labeling and standards including: WaterSense;Energy Star;CEE; and,LEED. WaterSense labeling: focuses on cold water products and irrigation efficiency; high-efficiency toilet(HET) spec published, toilets being certified;Irrigation Professional Certification; Irrigation Controllers Specification Development;Faucets, New Homes, and more on the horizon. Energy Star labeling incorporates water standards on some hot water products including clothes washers. Characteristics are outlined for Energy Star residential and commercial dishwashers, clothes washers, and ice machines, and EPACT 2007 Standard for Commercial Clothes Washers are listed. CEE criteria for ice makers and commercial kitchen initiatives are provided, along with LEED for homes criteria. National initiatives mentioned include: Green initiatives; Smart Water Application Technology (SWAT) Initiative; and, Alliance for Water Efficiency. Regional Initiatives mentioned include: Texas Water Conservation Initiatives; California Clothes Washer Efficiency; Florida Irrigation Research. Local initiatives mentioned include: Austin Water Conservation Task Force; and, Upcoming Water Efficiency Conferences.
