This slide presentation outlines a project to develop a utility energy index for producing industry-wide energy performance metrics forwater and wastewater utilities to be used for comparing performance to peers, an ideal,identifying savings potential, andprioritizing where to look for improvements. Project goals included:Collect Data (surveys);Define Comparison Framework;Create Metrics;Water / Wastewater; and,Demonstrate Use (case studies). The presentation outlines developing meaningful metrics, provides an information model, survey topics, single/multi-parameter models, additional data characteristics, energy use by category, and moving toward best practice.
