This slide presentation outlines a program sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) called the "Safe Water System" to reduce diarrheal disease incidence in developing countries. The CDC Safe Water System consists of treating drinking water at the point of use by diluting it with sodium hypochlorite bleach, and storing treated drinking water safely in narrow-mouthed, lidded vessels with spigots.
