The objective of this study presented in a slide presentation format was to evaluate theformation of biofilm on the sand surface and tostudy its effects for HAA removals. The study area was in Kin-Men County, on mainland China. Topics covered include: water quality in study area; treatment processes includedconventional treatments with slow sandfiltration; HAAs in water treatment processes; HAA formation in treatmenttrains, cases in Kin-Men County; laboratory filtrationtests for HAA removal; biofilm formation on sand surface; HAAs removal in simulated SSF; MCAA removal in batch biodegradation tests; DCAA removal in batch biodegradation tests; and, TCAA removal in batch biodegradation tests.
