This slide presentation on rate setting and financial management addresses three common funding questions: will revenues be sufficient tomeet operating needs;what is best way to fundcapital renewal (i.e. CIP); and,what are the pros and cons ofreserve funds? Several types of reserve funds are outlined that include: working capital;rate stabilization;capital renewal;emergency; and,debt service reserve. A pie graph of example balances is provided.
