This slide presentation outlines the Central and Southern Florida Project for Flood Control and Other Purposes. The project covers several areas that include: flood control; water supply for agriculture, urban areas, Everglades National Park, and saltwater intrusion; navigation; and, protection of fish and wildlife. Topics covered include: unintended consequences of the C water resource system; major project components; water management system components; project strengths and weaknesses; comprehensive Everglades restoration plan; water reservations; water use permits; reservations quantified through volume-probability curves; water supply plan requirements; incremental modeling results for LEC natural areas; implication of WRDA on future consumptive uses; potential new sources of water in an integrated water resource plan; use of reclaimed water for indirect aquifer recharge; mandatory reclaimed water service areas for utilities; and, advantages of alternative water supplies to utilities.
