This slide presentation outlines information on the New York City Department of Environmental Protection's (NYCDEP) use of web-based software for managing construction information. The issues NYCDEP was facing included: compressed construction schedules;reduced CM budgets;mega projects receiving/generating over 20,000pages of documentation per month;new, more diverse types of information required(digital photographs, electronic submittals etc); and,no established standards for collecting and reportinginformation. The web-based construction management program offers to: centralize access to construction projectinformation;provide a simple platform for communication;standardize business processes; and,provide a method to document all information throughout the project.
