Full Description

Three promising analytical approaches are being developed as possible on-line monitoringmethods for haloacetic acids (HAA5) analysis. These methods include automated flow injection analysis, ionchromatography and post-column ion chromatography. Preliminary method detection limit (MDL),accuracy and precision studies suggest that these methods show promise for monitoring HAA5concentrations in drinking water over the concentration range from ~5 to 100 g/L. The results of side-by-side comparisons of two of these methods are presented under controlled conditions in water samplesfrom several different locations and sources. This paper addresses possible interferences andperformance criteria such as sensitivity, robustness, method detection limit, accuracy and precision. Includes 59 references, tables, figures.
