This slide presentation outlines information on developing a fluence monitoring system for ultraviolet (UV) disinfection plants based on nitrate. Information is given on a collimated beam study with the specific objectives of: studying the effect of water quality parameters on nitrite formation; proposing a system for fluence monitoring in practical UV systems using nitrate; and, establishing whether a full monitoring tool can be developed or an alarm system.
