This paper gives an overview of Metro Water Services (MWS) water audits usingthe IWA / AWWA methodology. The first audit was done by Water SystemsOptimization (WSO) and covered the period from July 2001 through June 2002. Thesecond audit that was recently completed covered the period from July 2002 through June2003. The first audit had some very large confidence limits due to lack of data and / or alack of confidence in some of the data. The department learned a lot from the first auditand the data for the second audit was much more accurate and concise. Consequently, theconfidence limits were much tighter. Based on the results of the first audit, performancetargets were set and a plan for meeting those targets was identified and begun. Includes tables.
