This paper outlines the effort in the United States to use "pipe bursting" as a means of pipeline replacement and trenchless technology. The paper explains the process of Pre-Chlorination, Methods 1 and 2, and presents three pilot projects using the Pre-Chlorination method for pipeline replacement.
