This document provides a fairly short, straightforward review of the upcoming regulationbased on agreements developed during the FACA process, focusing on the key issues of mostconcern to a water system. At the time this manuscript was prepared, the proposed and finalversions of the LT2ESWTR had not yet been published, and therefore this information is notavailable in readily available sources. This paper is intended to help water industry processionalsunderstand the upcoming regulation. The discussion is complemented by examples of how theRule would be applied at an existing water plant in Richmond, Virginia. Although each site isdifferent, the case study at Richmond involves many characteristics that are similar to othersurface water facilities that will be subject to this regulation. Includes figures.
