As part of a recently completed AWWA Research Foundation project that was evaluating the use of particle counting in water treatment, a database of filtered water turbidity was collected. This paper discusses the results of an evaluation of these turbidity data to determine the current turbidity values of filtered water in operating plants around the US, factors which affect filtered water turbidity, and the impact on the water industry of a lower filtered water turbidity standard.
