Environmental Reporting (ER) is relatively new and in its infancy. It is growing in importance. This is the case in the United Kingdom in Europe and in the United States as well. The number of firms producing separate ERs is growing. The content of reports is improving. Awareness is being raised. And organizations have to ask how their organization is responding to the challenge of ER. The author addresses: why have an environmental report; who is the audience; how has Severn Trent approached ER; what are the issues; and what are the lessons.
