Both AM/FM and GIS are computerized databases of facts. AM/FM holds precisely positioned details of engineering constructions, and GIS accesses the service needs of present and future customers. This paper discusses interfacing the two systems to create a model of the distribution network, and then transferring information from the model back into the AM/FM and GIS databases.
