The objectives of this poster-style presentation are: examine the existing conventional filtration plant of the Passaic Valley Water Commission operating data for historical trends; conduct jar tests tests without oxidants to determine adequacy of current plant operation; conduct jar tests with oxidants to examine effects on standard treatment parameters; conduct bench studies to examine the effects of oxidants on disinfection byproduct formation; and determine an appropriate operating range of alum and oxidants for further pilot-scale studies.
