This paper reviews the experiences of several Florida utilities including: computer networks used for SCADA hosts and data archival purposes; inexpensive, unique and effective communication subsystems that are being used to communicate with widely dispersed monitoring sites; and instrumentation used for monitoring water flows and levels.
