A primary mission of the AWWA Water Quality and Technology Division Disinfection SystemsCommittee is to survey and report on drinking water disinfection practices. This paperprovides a preliminary summary of the Committee's fourth survey of drinking water utilitydisinfection practices since the advent of disinfection byproduct regulations in the late1970's. The final survey data analysis will be summarized in the Disinfection Survey 2007Committee Report, which is expected to be published in 2008. This summary describes thesurvey processes, followed by tables and graphs from the preliminary data analysis as compiledfor presentation at the AWWA Water Quality and Technology Conference in Charlotte, NorthCarolina on November 5, 2007.
