The main objective of the Amman Water Conveyance System Project is to supply an average of 100 million cubic meters of good quality water per year to the greater Amman Area from the Rum Aquifer in Southern Jordan, a distance of approximately 325 km from Amman, to meet urgent municipal and industrial requirements. The project is divided into three stages: conceptual study, feasibility study and preliminary design; detailed design of project components; and, build-operate-transfer contract documents.
