1.1 This specification covers preformed flexible elastomeric cellular-thermal insulation in sheet and tubular form. Grade 1 covers materials to be used on commercial or industrial systems with operating temperatures from -183 to 104C [-297 to 220F], Grade 2 covers material used on industrial systems with operating temperatures from -183 to 150C [-297 to 300F], and Grade 3 covers material used on industrial systems with operating temperatures from -183 to 120C [-297 to 250F] where halogens are not permitted. 1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
